Fruthmel

First documented attestation

In the De Secretis manuscripts (Clavicula Salomonis de secretis, 17th c. — Dresden N.91, Rps 3352 II, Venice b.93) as «Fruthmel», with its power and its drawn character. This is the stratum preceding the printed Verum.

Power in the manuscript (De Secretis, Latin)

«Fruthmerl cuiuslibet generis convivia apparabit. Item Vina meliora apponet et cibos delicatiores, ut pote perdices, Lepores, Turdos, Cuniculos, Soleas ... imo et fructus meliores.»

How it is invoked (Grimorium Verum, 18th c.)

Verum: write Frutimiere’s character with bat’s blood on virgin parchment and place it on a blessed stone over which Mass has been said. When you wish to use it, put the character beneath the sill or threshold she must cross; the text then describes the operation’s manifestation.
