About Grimorium — what it is and who makes it

✦

Grimorium is a free, ad-free catalogue of the 72 spirits of the Ars Goetia, built from real historical sources and in three languages: Spanish, English and Latin.

What it is

A reference on the Ars Goetia, the first part of The Lesser Key of Solomon (Lemegeton, 17th c.). For each spirit we gather its seal, rank, legions and office and — above all — which earlier grimoire it comes from and what the sources actually say.

Who makes it

It is edited by Kevin Lovecraftiano, author of the history channel on demonology and grimoires. The project grew out of years reading primary sources and the frustration of finding no clean, cited, honest reference on the Goetia.

The house principle

Always distinguish what the old sources document from what modern practice later added. When an attribution is in no source, we do not invent it; when something is recent, we say so. This is historical, educational material, not a how-to for summoning.
