Final chapter of «The Fallen Choirs». After traversing the fallen Virtues, Dominions, Powers, Thrones and Angels, the underlying question: do the 72 daemons really come from the nine angelic choirs?

What we have seen

We have traversed the fallen choirs: the Virtues in Agares and Barbatos; the Dominions in Paimon and Marchosias; the Powers in Beleth, Gaap, Vual and Procel; the Thrones in Raum; the Angels in Caim. And the many that touch them through their legions.

We have seen the theology that explains it, and the ancient sources from which it comes. Now, the final question: what does all this mean as a whole? What thesis does the series uphold?

It is not a system

First part of the thesis, and the most important so as not to deceive ourselves. The goetic grimoires do not invent a systematic daemonology of nine fallen choirs. There is no complete map where every daemon has its choir.

On the contrary: most of the seventy-two declare none. Only a few confess it. Seraphim, Cherubim, Principalities and Archangels do not appear clearly as the origin of any goetic daemon. The system is incomplete, fragmentary, at times contradictory between Weyer and the Goetia.

Whoever sells you a perfect map of the seventy-two by choir... is inventing. The real source is more humble, and more honest.

Fragments of a tradition

Second part. What the grimoires preserve are fragments of an older medieval tradition: that of the offices of the spirits, where some daemons remembered, or claimed, to have belonged to an angelic order.

It is not a theological dogma. It is an echo. A rumor preserved from copy to copy, from manuscript to manuscript, from the Livre des Esperitz to Weyer and the Goetia. Sometimes the echo is lost: that is why Weyer preserves the choir of Balam or of Amy, and the Goetia no longer does.

They are the traces of an ancient idea, not its complete formulation.

The shadow of a function

Third part, the one that gives meaning to everything. When a daemon declares its choir, what it reveals is not only its past: it is the form of its present power. Because, as Aquinas taught, they preserve the nature even though they lose the glory.

That is why the angelic function always reappears as an inverted shadow. The miracle becomes prodigy; government, domination; the power that bound, power without an owner; judgment, destruction; the message, divination.

To know the choir from which a daemon fell is to know the shadow it casts. That is the key that opens the entire series.

The echo of heaven

From the series. The fallen choirs are not a closed catalogue, but an echo: the rumor that some daemons remember having been light, and preserve their form even though they have lost their fire.

Everything we saw is a documentary reconstruction from real sources — the Ars Goetia, Weyer, Scripture, Pseudo-Dionysius, Gregory the Great, Thomas Aquinas and the medieval manuscripts — for historical and study purposes. We do not affirm that the seventy-two come from the nine choirs: we follow only what the texts say, and remain silent where they are silent.

Thank you for journeying with us through the forbidden archive. And remember: without reason and without prudence, said the old manuscript, a magician is nothing but a shadow before a substance.

A documentary reconstruction from real sources (the Ars Goetia, Weyer, Pseudo-Dionysius, Gregory the Great, Thomas Aquinas), for study. The italic passages are the video's recited lines. We do not claim the 72 come from the nine choirs: we only follow what the texts declare.
