[col. izq.] To w[hi]ch you know the Angell that governeth the signe, & Degree of your Nativity, and haveing the seale w[hi]ch is prepared to it is sutable to the signe and degree as is shewed before, then you are next to understand what order he is of and und[er] what prince as shewed here in y[e] following part[e] ——
First those genij that are attributed to [Aries][Leo][Sagittarius] are of the fiery region and are governed by Michael the great Angell who is one of the great messengers of god, which is towards the [south?] whose deputy genij are to be observed [onely?] the first hour on a sunday and the eight also at [three?] one [&?] ten at night directing your selfe towards their quarter, they appeare in Royall Robes holding scepters in their hands & Rideing on a Lion or a [cock?] their robes [are?] [of?] a [gold?] and saffron collor and most comonly they assume the shape of a[t] seaven queene [?] very beautyfull to behold —— &c
Secondly those genij that are attributed to [Taurus][Virgo][Capricorn] and of the earthly [region?] are governed by Uriel who hath three princes to attend him viz Cassiel. Sachiel & Asaiel [?]. [Therefore?] the genij that are attributed to him and those signes are to be observed in [the west?] they appeare like Kings haveing greene and silver Robes, or like little children or women delighting in hunting &c Saturday, the first and eight houre of the day and at night the nine and tenth houres, you are with privacy to obtaine your desires directing your [selfe?] towards the west &c
Thirdly those genij that are attributed to [Gemini][Libra][Aquarius] are of the airy region [are?] [governed &?] whose prince is called Raphael; who hath under him 2 princes, w[hi]ch are called Miel & Seraphiel. [therefore?] those genij w[hi]ch are attributed to him and those signes are [observed?] towards the east, [on?] wednesday, the first and eight houre of the day and at night the [?] [& tenth?] houres they appeare like Kings or Beautyfull young men clothed in Roabes of divers [colours?] [But?] most comonly like women. Strange & only handsome, by reason of their [?] [?] w[i]th very [?] &c ——
Fourthly those genij that are attributed to [Cancer][Scorpio][Pisces] are of the watery [region?] [and are?] governed by Gabriel, who hath under him 3 mighty princes, viz Samael. Madiel & Mael. Therefore those genij which are attributed to those signes are governed by gabriel [and] are to be observed on a munday towards the north w[i]th the first & 8[th] houres of the day, and at night the 9 & 10 hours they appeare like Kings haveing greene and silver Robes, like [?] Children or women delighting in Hunting &c
So in the next place wee are to consider the season of the yeare according to the constellation of the [heavenly?] Bodies, otherwise wee shall lose all our labour, for if a genius be of one hierarchy it is in vaine to observe him in any other season but when the [Sun?] doth rule those signes w[hi]ch are of his nature, that is [Aries][Leo][Sagittarius].
[col. der.] So if it be a genius of the earth he is to be observed when [Sol] endureth [Taurus] [Virgo] and [Capricorn], and so w[i]th them the rest ——
or otherwise thus: those genij that are of the order of the fire, are to be observed in [su]mer quarter & those of the earthly, in Autume, and those of the aire in the spring, and those of water in the winter quarter —— &c
their offices are to all things that are just and not against the lawes of the great god Jehovah But rather is for our good and what shall concerne the p[ro]tection of our life, or [being?] doth long & every good & godly deed for our neighbours &c Now he that desireth to see his genius, ought to prepare himselfe accordingly. Now if his genius [be] of the fire he demand must be the [conservation] of his body or p[er]son that he receive no hurt from [him?] or by any fire [?] [?] with like an [?] a [soul?] [?] w[hi]ch [being?] prepared [it is?] [?] w[he]n he hath a desire to see his genius, that he may co[n]forme it to him & for the time to come, he may not faile of his assistance and p[ro]tection at any time or occasion &c But if his genius be ayeriall he [is to?] con[forme?] to [?] nature, [?] love and affection between them [w]hich [?] the desired favour of Kings and princes & heartily p[ro]moteth [?] &c. & therefore [he that?] [?] such a genius before he observeth him should p[re]pare a seale sutable to his order that he may have it confirmed by him in the day and hour of observation w[hi]ch [?] he shall [see?] wonderfull & strange effect &c and so the like of y[e] other [hierarchies?] and when the time is come that your would [see?] y[e] genius Turne y[e] face towards that quarter the signe is and that with prayer to god they being comp[re]hensible to your fancy but sutable to y[e] matter in hand one their [?] shall find him, and haveing found him and sincerely acknowledged him [see?] your [?] [?] will as of being Benigne & [?] illuminate your minde, taking away all that is [obscene?] & darke in the memory, and make thee knowing in all [?] sacred & divine in [?] instant &c [?] A prayer, or ought to [be?] [said?] upon that [table?] w[he]n the genius is [observed?] [several times?] [?] to be up[on] an [experiment?] to call the genius into the christall stone, that is to stand up[on] the Table of practice before [?] it is first covered w[i]th a fine white linnen &c. Then this prayer may be [alowed?] to the minde of the worker, for it is [here?] set for an example &c O thou great and blessed N. my angell guardian voutchsafe to defend me from all [?] [manson?] [?] [?] O [that?] w[i]th thy holy Influence and p[re]side into this Cristall stone, that [I may?] behold thy [glory?] and enjoy thy society, aide and assistance, w[i]th now and for ever &c other [?] [?] [?] up[on] the holy [hearth?] and knowest the [secret?] of Elanel. Thou that ridest upon the winges of the winde and art mighty and potent in thy Cristall and superlunary motion, do then descend [and] be p[rese]nt I pray [thee?] and I humbly beseech and intreat thee, That if ever I have merited thy society or if any of my actions and intentions be real and pure & sanctified before thee during thy [?] naturall p[rese]nce [?] and comforte with more of thy subservient pupills. By and in the [name?] of great god Jehovah, w[hom] unto the whole quire of heaven singeth continually, O [Alappa la?] man Hallelujah amen [seal?] when you have said this over several times, you will at length [see?] [strange?] sighs and passages in the stone and at last you will see your genius: Then give him a kind entertainement as you was before directed declaring to him your minde and what you would have him doe &c
